Author Biography
Solitaire Townsend is a climate expert by day, and storyteller by night.
After decades of teaching governments, global brands and even movie studios how to communicate sustainability, she now has stories of her own to tell.
She regularly blogs for Forbes, has a popular TED talk, and wrote the critically acclaimed non-fiction book The Solutionists.
While some of her characters might not know they are 'LGBTQIA+' or 'neurodivergent', Solitaire does, because she’s also both. She lives in London, and once visited an oil-rig in the Amazon, which caught on fire.
Her debut novel, Godstorm, is available now.

Solitaire Townsend is a renowned sustainability expert. She works with the world’s most influential organisations to activate positive and optimistic change. Solitaire leads global debates on climate and sustainability leadership, green marketing, and solutions storytelling.
She is Co-founder & Chief Solutionist at Futerra and Chair of The Solutions Union charity.
In 2023, she was named ‘Leader of the Year’ at Adweek’s Sustainability Awards and the United Nations Global Compact SDG Pioneer for the UK. Vogue also named her one of their 100 Thought Leaders for 2023. Her previous accolades include ‘Ethical Entrepreneur of the Year’, chair of the UK Green Energy Scheme, trustee of Ashden, and founder member of the United Nations Sustainable Lifestyles Taskforce. Additionally, she currently sits on the UNFCCC Committee to engage Film & TV in the Paris Agreement.
In 2025, she gave over 75 speeches and workshops, including keynotes at the World Federation of Advertisers, COP30, the Hollywood Climate Summit, WBCSD Summit, Climate Week NYC, Conference Board and to L'Oréal, IKEA, Google, Unilever and many others.
